Opportunities of Agroforestry in the Region of Luki Biosphere Reserve in Democratic Republic of Congo.

 A study was conducted on agroforestry practices at Biosphere Reserve of Luki (RBL) in Kongo Central province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.This studyaimed at analyzing the perceptions of people living in RBL  on the opportunities that presents the agroforestry in that region. A qualitative and quantitative survey completed by observations was made locally from 10 april to 15 may 2021 on 96persons (88 agroforest farmers and 8 ressource persons). Agroforestry practices at Luki are based on agrisylviculture, sylvopastoralism and agrisylvopastoralism systems. Among opportunities provided by agroforestry systems, there are income activities, diversity of incomes generating activities and the valorization of marginal lands and soils fertilizations .Present study revealed that the majority of the surveyed people agreed with the advantage of the diversification of incomes by the sale of agroforestry products (agriculture products, breeding, wood and other forest products). Télécharger l'article
