Geological investigation of the superficial area and geochemical prospection of Lunsanu deposit in the Haut Katanga, DR Congo.

This study consists of a surface geological survey to identify the geological formations and tectonic structures in the Lunsanu project areas that are favorable to the identification of Cu-Co mineralization. The methods used consisted of compiling and interpreting surface geological mapping data, geological surveys of various pits and trenches performed. This exploration phase ended with the development of a preliminary surface geological map that includes Nguba formations formerly known as "Lower Kundelungu" and Middle Roan formations (R2). The latter are potentially rich in the desired Cu-Co mineralization. As a result, this sector is a favorable area for the identification of a deposit of economic interest. Subsequent drilling confirmed the study hypothesis by revealing 6 290 859 tons of ore with an average of 3.49% Cu. Téléchargé l'article
